Here is a software solution to email security threats:

MailWasher Pro is an email screening program that automatically detects spam by scanning the headers, subject and body text, consulting online databases of known spam, checking against a blacklist the user has created and analyzing incoming raw source code with user-configurable filters, which include positive and negative conditions and Regular Expressions filters.

We use Mailwasher Pro to screen all incoming email, using all of it's built-in tools, plus hand-selected blocklists and our own blacklist, regular expressions and known spam-domains filters. We would be happy to assist anybody who purchases Mailwasher Pro through a link on our website, with creating their own filter rules and blacklists.

For more complete details about how Mailwasher Pro works, and descriptions of some of our own filters, visit our own MailWasher Pro web page.

Anonymizer Anonymous Surfing enables anonymous Web browsing which hides your IP address so online advertisers and cyber-criminals are unable to track the sites you visit and build profiles on your Internet activities. Anonymous Surfing also protects you from inadvertently visiting Web sites that are known to be phishing, pharming, or spyware sites. If you unknowingly attempt to visit one of these sites, a warning page will display to notify you of the hidden dangers awaiting you. Plus, it secures data sent over wireless networks, at home, office or public hotspot. A one year subscription to Anonymizer Anonymous Surfing only costs $29.99 US, which is a small price to pay to maintain your browsing anonymity. Try Anonymizer for Free for 7 days, with all features enabled.

ZoneLabs Secure Wireless Router Wizcrafts strongly recommends that all cable or DSL customers equip their computers with multiple layers of protection, including, but not limited to, a firewall to block both incoming and outgoing unauthorized communications, an up-to-date anti-virus program that has automatic updates, automatic Windows Updates turned on, spybot/spyware detector, remover, and neutralizer programs (we use and recommend Spybot Search and Destroy, and SpywareBlaster), an email program with anti-spam rules that can also detect attachments and delete them from your email server (We use and recommend MailWasher Pro), and high security settings on your browser and email client (program). I have text and banner links for good deals on all of these types of programs throughout my webpages. Do us both a favor and protect your computer.

Spyware Warrior is a website whose sole purpose in life is the pursuit of knowledge about various types of sleazeware, adware and spyware. They maintain a database of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, as it applies to spyware installation and removal programs. Spyware Warrior maintains help Forums, where people can get assistance in identifying and removing stubborn, sleazy, spyware and adware programs. There is also an entire page devoted to revealing Rogue Anti-Spyware Programs, that claim to remove spyware, but don't accomplish anything useful. It is a good idea to check this page if you are considering installing an anti-spyware program that you learned about in a popup ad, or on a webpage you visited, or from an email link. Many Rouge programs give false positives to fool you into paying for them to have these items removed, when in fact they may not exist on your computer at all.

Studies show that 9 out of 10 computers are infected with spyware and/or adware. Is yours one of them? Scan your PC for spyware threats now for FREE.

Steve Gibson, owner of Gibson Research Corp, offers a free tool named DComBobulator, which is a tiny stand-alone program that can be used to quickly check any Windows computer for the DCOM RPC vulnerability, and close it permanently for you. It also checks your TCP Port 135 to see if it accepts incoming connections (Open), or if it is closed but visible to the world, or better yet, is totally Stealthed. GRC also has an online port scanner where you can test your shields on all TCP Ports.

In addition to the above Steve has released a program that turns off the Windows Messenger Service. This is the virtually useless Windows accessory that was originally designed for office administrators to send quick popup messages to fellow employees, warning them about server shutdowns and similar notices. However, spammers discovered this virtually unused feature that is included with Windows 2000 up, and enabled by default. Spammers use Windows Messenger Service to popup advertising messages that look like system alerts, thereby fooling users and flooding desktops around the world with useless "Messenger" junk. You can download Shoot The Messenger here and be done with these popup ads, disguised as system alerts.
