Redneck Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when drunk as a louse,
Bubba pulled his old rambler on up to the house

A few newer dents on the front of the car
Gave momma to know he'd been down at the bar

He came in with some groc'ries he had not gone out to get
And stopped in the kitchen with boots soaking wet

Then momma came at him with her old rolling pin
And put dad in his place jist like time and again

She checked in the bag and then cackled with glee
And said, "This crown royales just perfect for a lady like me."

He'd forgotten the turkey and stuffing in spite,
of the list she had given to make dinner just right.

She was mad as can be at the man on the floor,
And when he woke up kicked his but out the door.

Bubba thought now's the time, take the dog for a walk
And they used the same tree at the end of the block.

Avoiding transmissions in the front of the yard,
all covered in snow was really damn hard.

He slid on a brake pad and fell on his back,
And stared at the engine in the tree there so black.

A noise took his notice to the top of their shack
and he looked up to see the worlds biggest butt crack,
on some stranger bent over a sack on the roof
who leaned into the chimney and was gone with a poof.

Well he got his ole shotgun and ran to the door, and said,
"Ethel this ain't gonna happen no more".

He took aim and fired at the guy by the tree,
but as drunk as he was there was no way to see
that the guy dressed in red overweight by a ton,
was the guy known as Santa. Now what had he done?

Had he just imagined his target and aimed?
for no one lay there on the floor hurt or maimed.

There wadn't a body, there wadn't no blood.
No proof of the foul evil thing he had done.

So fast as he could Bubba climbed to the roof
to get rid of the evidence and be done with the proof.

There nine tiny reindeer were waitin in line
for their Master who boarded the sleigh looking fine.

Two by two they assembled and clawed at the snow,
Bubba knew that when boarded away they would go.

Remembrin'g the lack of the turkey they'd lost
Bubba thought he'd replace it at minimal cost.

So he took aim and then fired at the first deer then leered,
and yelled, "Ethyl it's venison for christmas this year."

Peter Pan's Blues

Play the midi music track

VERSE:
Once in a young man's simple mind
Tainted with innocence and to evil blind
There came a love, he thought would be true
Then exposed as he was to the wicked world
He gave up his innocence and made love to the girl
He grew into a man, and suffered Peter Pan's Blues

CHORUS:
Peter Pan's Blues, he wants to stay a young man
Always on the watch for a handout
Won't you help him get over, Peter Pan's Blues

VERSE:
So often the boy had refused to see
With aging came responsibility
And in accepting none, thought he'd keep his youth
Now that night in the back of somebody's Chev'rolet
Seems like a time Oh so far away
Like a memory that's gone now, out searching for truth.

CHORUS, then TAG and END

Life After Last Call

Play the entire song (1.6 mb, mp3), or just the first verse and chorus (593 kb, mp3).

VERSE:
The lights go down, the crowd's excited, and here's the band
While I'm under my third table, bottle in my hand
As they play that half time rhythm that we know so well
It'll all be over far too early I can tell.

CHORUS:
But is there life after last call?
Rememb'ring all the little things we used to do
Is there life after last call,
Or love after you?

VERSE:
The band's broke down and now the time has fin'ly come
The waitress says it's last call, I'll have ten more Rum
When a girl who looks just like you says she'll take me home,
It wouldn't matter who's beside me, I'll awake alone.

CHORUS, then TAG and END

One Guy You Won't Hurt

Play the entire song (3 mb, mp3), or just the first verse and chorus (1 mb, mp3).

VERSE:
You've locked your heart to me dear, for the last time,
But this time dear I've thrown away my key
You've hurt so many others in your lifetime,
But one guy you won't hurt this time is me.

CHORUS:
You treat each love affair, as the conquest of a man
You've used them till they've offered you,
Almost everything they can
You'll move on once again dear to a new love
But one guy you won't hurt this time is me.

VERSE:
I'll always have my music to fall back on
While you can live alone with your memories,
Of the loves that you've abused and then discarded
But one guy you won't hurt this time is me.

CHORUS 2:
You treat each love affair, as the conquest of a man
You've used him till he's offered you
Almost everything he can
Each feather in your cap comes from an Eagle
But one guy you won't hurt this time is me
Yes one guy you won't' hurt this time is me.

Easy To Love

CHORUS:
That Girl's so easy to love and so hard to forget,
Impossible to get over and yet,
I've tried. Lord how I've tried.
That girl's so easy to love she's a trap I fell into.
I wanna stay but I know it's a sin to,
While another woman owns, this body of mine.

VERSE:
I caught her eye in a barroom mirror,
Thoughts on her mind couldn't be much clearer
And I knew then, It wouldn't be right
Drawn to her just like a moth to the flame
Forgetting the woman who shared my name
In the dimmer glow, of a bar-room light

Liquor And Cheap Alibis

Play the song (2.9 Mb, mp3)

VERSE:
You're alone at the bar I can tell by the look in your eyes
You've been hurt by someone who drowned you in cheap booz and lies
I can tell by the tears that you've thrown away years,
And the end isn't any surprise
You've found out it's true there's no future for you
In Liquor and Cheap Alibis

CHORUS:
You dance with me softly as slowly we head for the door.
Sweet nothings we spoke promise only one night and no more
We turn down the bed love each other before passion dies
Tonight I can give more than Liquor and Cheap Alibis

VERSE:
You awake in my arms now I've tasted the charms you possess
I watch as you smile and you reach for your red satin dress
I'd like you to stay, but you must leave you say
To taste someone else's delights
When you meet face to face, you can give him a taste
Of your Liquor and Cheap Alibis

CHORUS, then TAG and END

Back In Her Arms Again

VERSE:
When the house lights dim this evening
For the show that we've put on a million times,
I'll sing my songs of emptiness so full of
Broken memories and rhymes.
I'll sing my songs of cheatin' for those broken hearted women and old men
But God knows I'll be wastin' time 'til I'm back in my lover's arms again.

CHORUS:
Back in her arms again, that's where I know I belong
She holds the strength I need, to carry on
I know she holds for me, all I could hope to be
And love is her magic charm, when I'm back in her arms.

VERSE:
Now when I get home this ev'ning Lord,
I know she'll smile and ask about the town.
She'll know I'm only kidding when I say that we
Just tore the damn house down.
She knows it's just a beer hall, but my white lies never did her any harm.
She knows that I'm just biding time, 'til once again I'm home and in her arms.

CHORUS, then TAG and END

Peter Styles' Comedy

So Dis old guy walks into a bar, sits down next to a hooker, looks at her and says "So hey Kid.... Do I come in here often"?

Or,

It's a Saturday night in what has lately become a trendy part of town. Politics and the arts blend at the bar, deep in philosophical conversation, and in some cases, spirited debate about the events of the day. At one end of the bar, a young lady sits displaying more of her leg than is probably suitable, as a young man of dubious sexuality flips his scarf flirtatiously next to her.

At about 10:00, a gentleman enters the bar. for some reason his semi advanced age and deportment momentarily command the attention of anyone within eyesight of the door.

This gentleman is dressed in a suit which 20 years ago might have been considered the height of fashion with it's double breasted jacket and razor sharp creases in his pants.

His shoes bear a mirror like shine that demonstrates the type of attention given by a military type.

He has an air of dignity, while still exuding the aura of someone who, with only a few setbacks more in life might have been homeless.

He approaches the only seat available in the establishment, that next to the young lady, whose skirt suddenly hikes just a little higher. He orders a Manhattan, and several of the patrons scoff at his choice of such an antiquated cocktail.

He removes from his pocket a wad of bills that instantly dispel any suggestion of homelessness and pays for the drink.

The young lady's skirt now screams for attention. As he notices the demonstration with a smile of approval, his gaze wanders to a corner table where an attractive 40ish woman straight backed, glancing at a book. He imagines poetry or prose. She wears her hair in a perfectly balanced bun which suggests the length to which it would fall if released. Her shapely legs are crossed demurely at her ankles. A well fitting skirt and jacket complete the look.

She wears very little makeup, but her features are perfectly defined, and attract the attention of every young Mother fixation in the bar.

The older gentleman spies her posture and seated gait, and as the young lady unknowingly vies for his attention, he stands and carries his drink in the direction of the lady in the corner.

As he approaches, he notices the book, "Fifty Shades of Gray" and admires her taste as well as her courage in literary selection.

He is lost in the illusion she presents as her perfume cuts through the stench of the Barroom past its prime.

He approaches and as she notices him, a smile teases at the corner of her mouth as she pays homage to the only age appropriate gentleman in the house.

He takes the smile as an invitation to join her, and does so with no expectation of anything but quiet conversation between two people of appropriate age.

He stares into the eyes of the most beautiful girl he's seen since his recently departed wife, and with eyes brimming with the joy of hopefulness, takes her hand softly and whispers to her, "So... Do I come here often"?

I KNOW, A LOT MORE INFORMATION THAN WE NEEDED BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS CUTE.
