* Upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7

Microsoft has made it extremely difficult for Windows XP users to upgrade directly to Windows 7, in fact, it is totally unsupported. Still, your valid Windows XP license allows you to purchase the upgrade version of Windows 7, but only supports a clean install, or side by side install, in a separate partition. Using this method requires you to reinstall and re-license all of your programs, then transfer all files and reestablish all personalized settings under Windows 7.
